IT Support Specialist

NuGEN Technologies is looking for a highly motivated IT Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee computer systems offer support to the system’s users, support day-to- day operations, onboard new employees, assist with audio/video, and build documentation.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Serve as point of contact for and support of NuGEN employees in swiftly resolving issues with their computers, network and other IT/AV related issues
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications. Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved. Perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests
  • Daily equipment support including printers, copiers, telephones
  • Document operations, processes, and IT solutions
  • Manage the procurement and inventory of all necessary computer equipment & software
  • Ensure correct inventorying and distribution of IT/AV equipment
  • Coordinate tech setup needs for onboarding new hires, employee exits, etc
  • Record incidents in the support tool for documentation and traceability purposes
  • Provide support to users in technical matters and answer queries in regard to the use of the available IT equipment
  • Assign system access rights and install software and hardware in accordance with the relevant procedures
  • Responsible for the setup, take down and re-location of all PC systems and other IT/AV equipment
  • Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications
  • Develop training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and software
  • Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service
  • Disaster Recovery
  • Cyber Security
  • Work with vendors; procure new equipment/software
  • Work with outsourced agencies (such as phone company)
  • Stay current on most up-to- date technologies and make necessary recommendations
  • Assist with ERP system


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware, firewall, router, switches
  • Extensive application support experience
  • Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills
  • Integration experience with 3rd party software
  • Experience with:
    Windows 7 & 10
    Mac OS
    Cloud computing/Google Suite
    Active Directory
    Wireless Networking
  • Experience with the following a plus:
    ERP systems
    Windows Server 2008/2012
    Ubuntu Linux
    SQL experience
